At EvenUS (“EvenUS”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), operated by Aapt Dubey, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you download, install, access, or use our household management mobile application (available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) and the website https://evenus.app (collectively, the “Service” or “App”).

By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service and uninstall the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a. Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password, and profile details (including optional profile photo).
  • Household and financial data: shared expenses, amounts, categories, dates, notes, and receipts you or your partner manually enter.
  • Labor and chore data: task descriptions, assignments, time spent, completion status, and related notes.
  • Partner connection data: when you invite or accept an invitation to connect with another user (we only process this with explicit mutual consent).

b. Automatically Collected Information

  • Device and usage data: device type, operating system version, IP address, app version, and usage statistics (e.g., features used, session duration).
  • Technical logs: error reports, crash data, and authentication events for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health, biometric, or precise location data) except for any GPS metadata that may be embedded in receipt photos you voluntarily upload (we recommend stripping EXIF data before uploading).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including calculating the “Fairness Score” and “Labor Valuation”).
  • Enable secure sharing of household data between you and your consented partner.
  • Send in-app notifications about tasks, expenses, or account activity.
  • Authenticate users, prevent fraud, and ensure security.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Analyze aggregated, anonymized usage trends to improve the App (no individual tracking for advertising).

We do not use your data for behavioral advertising or sell your personal data to any third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

  • With Your Connected Partner: By design, data you enter (expenses and chores) is shared only with the partner you have mutually and explicitly consented to connect with. Both parties must have active accounts and have accepted these Terms and this Privacy Policy.
  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party providers (e.g., cloud hosting services such as AWS or similar) strictly for hosting, data storage, and technical support. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and process it only on our behalf.
  • App Stores: When you subscribe to Premium features, Apple or Google (depending on your platform) processes your payment information. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or household data for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers located in India. We use industry-standard encryption (in transit and at rest), access controls, and regular security audits to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure; you should use strong, unique passwords and enable any available two-factor authentication.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

  • Account and household data: retained while your account is active.
  • Upon account deletion (or partner disconnection), we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except for limited backup or legal records.

6. Your Rights and Choices (Including DPDP Act, 2023)

As a user in India or elsewhere, you have the following rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws:

  • Request deletion/erasure of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Withdraw consent for processing at any time (this may require you to stop using the Service).
  • Obtain a portable copy of your data.
  • Opt out of non-essential processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@evenus.app. We will respond within the timelines required by law.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18 without parental consent, we will delete it promptly.
