Deleting your EvenUS account

You can delete your account and your personal data at any time. You don't need your partner's permission, and they aren't asked to approve it.
If you are in a household with someone, they are told once (a notification, an email to their verified address and a card in the app) that you deleted your account, with your name and no reason. You get a short confirmation email to your own verified address, which also says how to cancel a store subscription (deleting the account does not cancel it).
In the app
Us → Delete your account (at the bottom of the Us tab). It takes effect immediately.
No household yet? If you signed up but never created or joined a household, Delete account is at the bottom of the welcome screen, the setup screen and the “Check your email” screen. It works the same way.
By email
Email support@evenus.app from the address you signed up with, asking for your account to be deleted. We will action it within 30 days.
What is deleted straight away
What is kept, and why
Shared expenses, chores and bills stay with the household, because they are also your partner's records. Your name is replaced with “Former member”. Deleting them outright would silently rewrite every past split and score the person you lived with still relies on.
If you are the only member of the household (you never paired, or your partner has already left), nothing is kept: the household and everything in it are deleted with your account, and so is any “Previous household” kept for you. The app says so before you confirm and offers an export first.
If you bought the subscription and it is still running, one small billing record stays: your (now deleted) account ID, the household the purchase pays for and any households you left while it ran (so a refund reaches them too), no name, email or payment details. The store keeps renewing until the subscription is cancelled, and this is how a renewal (or a refund) still reaches the household. Your partner keeps EvenUS Pro only until the period you had already paid for ends, or until someone new joins; a later renewal charged to you never extends it. It is deleted automatically once the subscription has run out, and straight away, with your account, if nothing is running.
RevenueCat, which processes subscriptions for us, keeps its customer record for that random account ID (purchase and receipt details) only while the subscription is still active or paid up, so renewals and the end of the subscription still reach the household. It is deleted straight away if nothing is running, and otherwise automatically after the subscription expires.
There is no reactivation window: a deleted account can't be restored. Backups and server logs may persist for up to 30 days.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription
A subscription bought through Apple or Google keeps renewing until you cancel it in your store account:
Cancel it there before or after deleting your account.
Take a copy first
Before deleting, you can export everything of yours as a file: Us → Export → Export my data. The export includes any “Previous household” kept for you; you can also export one on its own from Us → Previous household.
