Paired Alternatives for Couples (2026): 6 Apps Compared

Paired alternatives for couples: Agapé, Flamme, Evergreen, Between and Lasting compared on daily questions, price and upkeep, plus where EvenUS fits.

By · Updated

The best Paired alternatives are Agapé and Flamme if you like answering a daily question together and seeing each other's answers, Evergreen for daily questions with quizzes, Between if you want a private space for two with a shared calendar and chat, and Lasting if you want guided sessions, though it has not been updated in a while. EvenUS is a different kind of pick: it is not about connection, it is about how money, chores and planning are shared at home.

EvenUS is our own app. Everything we say about the others comes from their own websites and US App Store listings, checked on 3 November 2026, and ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day. We could not confirm most of these apps' prices on their own sites, so we say so instead of guessing.

Why couples look beyond Paired

Paired is one of the biggest couples apps: 4.7 from 210K ratings on the US App Store when we checked. You answer a question, then unlock your partner's answer, and there are games and quizzes on Premium. The free plan gives you one question to answer together each day. Its FAQ says Premium is $79.99 per couple per year, with a 7-day trial on the yearly plan, and only one partner needs to subscribe. It runs on iOS and Android.

People look elsewhere because they want the same habit for less, a different tone (calmer, more playful, more structured), or something practical for two people who share a home. And some find the daily questions were never the issue: the tension is about who is doing what. Our Paired vs EvenUS piece is about that difference.

1. Agapé: closest daily-question habit

Best for: couples who want one question a day and nothing more.

Agapé sends a daily question, and after you both respond you can see each other's answers. Its questions only work once you are paired with your partner. Its site says it is free to download and use, with premium features on top. It is on the App Store and Google Play. Its site does not publish premium prices, and the App Store lists several, so check in the app.

2. Flamme: daily questions with an AI coach

Best for: couples who like Paired's questions and want quizzes and challenges too.

Flamme gives you both the same question each day, and the answers open once you have both replied. Its FAQ says the daily questions stay free. Premium adds an AI relationship coach. It runs on iPhone and Android. It is smaller than Paired on the US App Store (418 ratings when we checked). Premium prices are not on its site.

3. Evergreen: daily questions and quizzes

Best for: couples who want quizzes on how well they know each other.

Evergreen's App Store listing describes daily questions and couples quizzes that test how well you know each other; its website says little beyond "helps couples grow together". It is free to download with in-app purchases and had 4.8 from 55K ratings on the US App Store. We could not confirm an Android version or its prices on its own site.

4. Between: a private space for two

Best for: couples who want a private chat, shared calendar and photos, not questions.

Between is a messenger just for two, with a shared calendar for your plans and special days. Its site lists iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. The paid Plus tier removes ads and adds features for both of you, according to its App Store listing; the yearly price shown in its own listing did not match its purchase list when we checked, so check in the app. It is not a daily-questions app.

5. Lasting: guided sessions, not recently updated

Best for: couples who want structured lessons and are fine with an app that is not changing.

Lasting, from Talkspace, offers guided sessions you reflect on and discuss with your partner, with a free starter series and Premium for two users. It is still listed on the US App Store, but its last update was on 19 February 2025, and its site footer still reads 2022. That does not mean it does not work, but it is worth knowing before you pay.

Love Nudge, a love languages app, is in a similar position: still listed, last released in July 2024. Relish, which some 2026 roundups still mention, was no longer on the US App Store or Google Play when we checked.

Where EvenUS fits

Best for: couples who feel close but not even: the conversation is fine, the division of the work is not.

EvenUS is our app and does a different job from Paired. It does not ask you daily questions. It looks at how money, time and the planning nobody sees are shared between the two of you, counts each partner's free hours in a week, and suggests one change a week. It does have a few things for the relationship side: a guided ten-minute Sunday talk, a private weekly check-in only you can see, and short notes to thank your partner for something specific, which are never counted.

Both partners' free hours on one scale, with the working underneath.

Its limits: it needs both partners, asks for some logging of chores, and is not a relationship coach. It is in closed testing, so you cannot download it from the app stores yet. One subscription covers both of you: a 7-day free trial with no card, then $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD reference prices, set per region by the app stores). If you are not sure which problem you have, the mental load quiz takes a few minutes.

Which one should you pick?

  • "We liked Paired's daily question." Agapé or Flamme.
  • "We want quizzes about each other." Evergreen or Flamme.
  • "We want a private space for the two of us." Between.
  • "We want structured lessons." Lasting, knowing it is not being updated.
  • "We talk fine; the chores and money feel unfair." EvenUS, and our guide to how unequal chores affect intimacy.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free alternative to Paired?

Agapé says it is free to download and use, with premium features. Flamme keeps its daily questions free. Paired itself has a free tier with one question a day.

Do both partners need to pay for Paired?

No. Paired's FAQ says only one partner needs to subscribe and Premium is shared with both accounts.

Is Relish still available?

Not on the US App Store or Google Play when we checked on 3 November 2026, so we have left it out.

Is EvenUS a couples app like Paired?

Not really. Paired helps you talk; EvenUS measures how the household load is shared and suggests one change a week. Paired vs EvenUS explains when each one helps.

How we compared them

We read each app's own website and its US App Store listing on 3 November 2026. Where only the App Store described a feature (as for Evergreen), we say so. We do not give a price unless the app's own site prints it, because App Store purchase lists mix many price points without saying which plan each one is. Ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day; Google Play stars are left out. We have not run a timed test of these apps. EvenUS facts come from our own feature documentation. If anything here is wrong or out of date, email support@evenus.app.
