Sweepy Alternatives for Couples (2026): 7 Cleaning Apps

Sweepy alternatives for couples: Tody, Nipto, Tidy, BeTidy, Chap, Home Routines and Flatastic compared on sharing, points and platforms.

By · Updated

The best Sweepy alternatives for couples are Tody for a cleaning plan driven by what is actually due, Nipto for points and free sharing, BeTidy for a points system built around sharing tasks fairly, Chap for a plain shared list, and Tidy or Home Routines if one of you mostly runs the cleaning. Flatastic adds shopping and shared costs. EvenUS is a different kind of pick: no points or leaderboards, but it measures how long chores take and how much free time each of you ends up with.

EvenUS is our own app. Everything we say about the others comes from their own websites and US App Store listings, checked on 3 November 2026, and ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day. Check each listing for current prices before you pay.

Why couples look beyond Sweepy

Sweepy turns cleaning into a shared game. You invite family members or roommates, tasks carry up to 3 points each, and there is a family leaderboard. It runs on iPhone, Apple Watch and Android, and it had a 4.7 rating from 11K ratings on the US App Store when we checked. Custom tasks are free; Sweepy's site labels a generated everyday cleaning checklist as premium.

Two things send couples looking. First, some couples find a leaderboard helps for a week and then starts its own argument, because points do not show that one partner also plans, notices and remembers. Second, Sweepy's iPhone app had not had an update since 4 February 2026 when we checked, which matters to some people choosing an app for years. Sweepy's site also prints no prices, and neither its site nor its listing says whether inviting a partner needs premium.

1. Tody: best cleaning plan

Best for: couples who want the app to decide what is due today.

Tody gives every task its own realistic frequency and shows only what is due. Assigning and rotating chores is free on every plan, and FairShare turns your agreed split into a monthly target for each person. The free plan is for one person; a live plan on both your phones needs Premium+, $25 a year for Duo on Tody's site, with a 30-day trial. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android, with no web version. Compare the two in Tody vs Sweepy, or see Tody alternatives.

2. Nipto: best for points without paying to share

Best for: couples who like Sweepy's game but want effort to count for more.

Nipto calls itself a fun and fair game for you and your partner, your family or your roommates. Tasks earn 5 to 100 eggs depending on effort, rather than a flat few points, and Nipto rotates a task based on who did it last. Inviting people is not among the Premium extras its site lists, and the free plan includes 5 schedules. It runs on iPhone, Android and in a browser. Its site does not print the Premium price.

3. BeTidy: best for points with fairness in mind

Best for: couples who want a points system that is explicitly about sharing tasks fairly.

BeTidy's listing talks about assigning tasks to each family member fairly and reducing mental load, and you can challenge your partner. Its site has a free Basic plan and Pro from $2.99 a month on a yearly plan; check its plan table for which features are Pro. It runs on iOS and Android.

4. Chap: best plain shared list

Best for: couples who want names on chores and nothing more.

Chap is for couples, roommates and families. Unlimited members and assigning chores are free; nudges and the full history are Premium ($39.99 a year on its site and the App Store); its site does not say which tier rotations are on. It runs on iPhone and Android.

5. Tidy: best for one person planning the cleaning

Best for: a household where one partner sets the routine and the other checks things off.

Tidy is free to download with optional Premium features, on iPhone, iPad and Android. Its site says you can invite household members, share tasks and see who has done what. Its site does not print prices and does not say whether sharing is paid, so check in the app.

6. Home Routines: best for a personal routine on iPhone

Best for: one partner who likes zone cleaning and gold stars.

Home Routines runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with no Android version. It has a rotating zone schedule and a gold star for each finished task. Its core features are free; sharing and collaborating are Premium. It is really a personal routines app, so it suits a couple where one person runs the cleaning more than a couple sharing it.

7. Flatastic: best for chores plus the rest

Best for: couples who want chores, groceries and shared costs in one app.

Flatastic has a chore rotation with a score system, a shopping list, an expense tracker and household notes, on iOS, Android and the web, and names couples among its users. See Flatastic alternatives.

Where EvenUS fits

Best for: couples who tried points and found they settle nothing.

EvenUS is our app, and it deliberately has no points, streaks or leaderboards, because a streak punishes whoever had a hard week. Instead, each chore has an owner and each check-off records the minutes it really took. The planning and remembering each of you carries is estimated by area and counted as hours too. Both partners' free hours sit on one scale, and once a week EvenUS suggests one thing to swap.

The EvenUS weekly idea screen suggesting one task changes hands, with the reasons and how the free-time gap would change
The weekly idea gives its reason and shows what would change before you agree to anything.

Its limits: it is not a cleaning planner, it only works for two people, it asks for some logging, and it is in closed testing, so it is not on the app stores yet. One subscription covers both of you: a 7-day free trial with no card, then $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD reference prices, set per region by the app stores). The mental load quiz is a quick way to see whether planning is part of what points miss in your home.

Which one should you pick?

  • "We liked the game." Nipto or BeTidy.
  • "We want the app to tell us what is due." Tody.
  • "We just want a shared list." Chap.
  • "One of us runs the cleaning." Tidy or Home Routines.
  • "Points made it worse." EvenUS, and our piece on why keeping score backfires.

How we compared them

We read each app's own website and its US App Store listing on 3 November 2026 and only state a fact when both agreed or the app's own page said it. We give a price only when the app's own site prints it. Ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day; Google Play stars are left out. We have not run a timed test of these apps. EvenUS facts come from our own feature documentation. If anything here is wrong or out of date, email support@evenus.app.
