Cozi Alternatives for Families (2026): 7 Honest Options
Cozi alternatives for US families: FamilyWall, TimeTree, Google Calendar, Skylight, Ohai and Hearth compared on price, ads and sharing.
The best Cozi alternatives are FamilyWall if you want a similar all-in-one organizer, TimeTree if the shared calendar is what matters most, and Google Calendar if you want something free that you probably already have. Skylight and Hearth put the family calendar on a screen in the kitchen, and Ohai does the typing for you from forwarded emails. EvenUS is a different kind of pick: it is not an organizer, but it shows how the work of running the house is shared between two partners.
EvenUS is our own app. Everything we say about the others comes from their own websites and US App Store listings, checked on 3 November 2026, and ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day. Prices change, so check before you pay.
Why families look beyond Cozi
Cozi is one of the best-known family organizers in the US: 4.8 from 402K ratings on the US App Store when we checked. It has a color-coded shared calendar, shopping and to-do lists, meal planning and a recipe box, on iPhone, Android and the web, and the whole family shares one account. The free plan has ads. Cozi Gold, $39 a year, removes them for everyone and, according to its App Store listing, lets you add, edit and view events more than 30 days ahead. Cozi Max, $79 a year on its site, adds AI event import, an AI recipe creator and an AI meal planner.
Families who look elsewhere usually want one of four things: no ads without paying, a better calendar, a screen on the wall the children can see, or less typing. Some couples also find that a tidy shared calendar has not changed who does the remembering. We cover that last one below.

1. FamilyWall: closest all-in-one alternative
Best for: families who like Cozi's idea but want more in one app.
FamilyWall's free features include a shared calendar, shopping lists, task lists, messaging and a photo gallery, on phone, tablet and web. Premium adds a meal planner, a budget, documents, Google and Outlook calendar sync and a family locator. It is $44.99 a year, and its site offers 30 days free; the monthly price on its site and in the App Store did not match when we checked. One subscription covers the whole family circle. For a close comparison, see Cozi vs FamilyWall, and FamilyWall alternatives for more options.
2. TimeTree: best shared calendar
Best for: couples and families who mostly need everyone's plans in one calendar.
TimeTree describes itself as calendar sharing for families, couples, work and other groups, with memo and to-do lists and chat inside events. It is free, with Premium at $4.49 a month or $44.99 a year (first month free), which removes ads. It runs on iPhone, Android and the web.
3. Google Calendar: best free option
Best for: families who already use Google accounts.
Google Calendar is free and lets you share calendars so others can view, add or change events. It has no shopping lists or meal planning, so many families pair it with a shared notes or list app. It runs on iPhone, Android and the web.
4. Skylight: best wall calendar
Best for: families who want the calendar and chores where the children can see them.
Skylight's app is used to activate and manage a Skylight Calendar or Frame, so plan on buying a screen: the 10-inch calendar starts at $149.99 on its site. Skylight Plus, $79 a year on its site ($39.99 a year in the App Store), adds features such as importing events by forwarding school emails and meal plans. The app lists recurring chores and routines. The app runs on Apple and Android devices.
5. Ohai: best for less typing
Best for: busy parents who want school newsletters turned into calendar entries.
Ohai is an AI household assistant. You forward school newsletters and updates and it adds them to a shared family calendar; it also plans meals and can send a grocery list to Instacart. There is a free version and a free trial. Its site lists Individual, Duo and Group plans by the month, but the App Store shows different prices, so check in the app. On the US App Store it is listed for iPhone and Mac.
6. Hearth: best large family hub
Best for: families who want a big shared screen and are happy to pay for it.
Hearth Display is a touchscreen for the family calendar, to-dos, routines and meal planning, with an AI scheduling helper. The display is sold on its site; check there for the current price. A Hearth membership ($9 a month or $86.40 a year, 30 days free) is required to set up the display.
Where EvenUS fits
Best for: couples who have a shared calendar and still argue about who keeps it.
EvenUS is our app, and it is not a Cozi replacement. It has no shared calendar. It does have a shared shopping list that turns the finished shop into one shared expense, reminders for birthdays, events and document renewals that you can export to Google, Apple or Outlook calendar, and a shared chore list where each chore has an owner and records the real minutes it took.

What it adds is the part an organizer cannot show: who notices, plans and remembers. EvenUS estimates that planning by area, counts it as hours alongside paid work and chores, and suggests one swap a week. It only works for two partners, so it is not for the children's chore charts, and it is in closed testing, not on the app stores yet. One subscription covers both of you: a 7-day free trial with no card, then $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year (USD reference prices, set per region by the app stores). Maple vs EvenUS explains the difference between an organizer and a fairness measure in more depth.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cozi still free?
Yes. Cozi's free plan includes the shared calendar and lists, with ads. Gold ($39 a year) removes ads for the whole family, and its App Store listing says Gold is needed to add, edit and view events more than 30 days ahead.
What is the best free alternative to Cozi?
Google Calendar is free with shared calendars. TimeTree and FamilyWall both have free plans, with paid tiers for extras.
Is FamilyWall better than Cozi?
It depends on what you need. FamilyWall's Premium includes a meal planner, budget, documents and a locator; Cozi's paid plans focus on ad-free use, the longer calendar view and, on Max, AI features. Cozi vs FamilyWall compares them.
Can EvenUS replace Cozi?
No. EvenUS has no shared calendar. It has a shopping list, reminders and a chore list, but its purpose is to show how the household load is shared between two partners.
How we compared them
We read each app's own website and its US App Store listing on 3 November 2026 and only state a fact when both agreed or the app's own page said it. Where the two disagreed, such as FamilyWall's monthly price or Ohai's plan prices, we say so instead of picking one. Ratings are the US App Store figures shown that day; Google Play stars are left out. We have not run a timed test of these apps. EvenUS facts come from our own feature documentation.
